1.Introduction
项目介绍
The International Graduate Summer School of 2019, sponsored by BEIHANG University(BUAA), will start on July 3rd.
本届研究生暑期学校举办地点为北京航空航天大学，于2019年7月3日开始。
This summer school aims to introduce to participants the frontiers of aeronautics, astronautics, informatics and medical science and technology.
During the one-week program, a number of academic forums and seminars will be held, and students will also be able to attend lectures presented by distinguished scholars. Some of the cutting-edge laboratories in BUAA will be open to students for visiting.
此为期一周的项目，将组织中外学员开展学术研讨交流和专题竞赛。学生将有机会聆听相关学术领域的优秀学者的讲座，小组竞赛也能够促进学术合作和创新。同时，我校会开放重点实验室供学员参观学习。在课余时间，学生将以小组形式在北京参加文化交流活动。

3.Targets for Requirement
招生要求
The participants should be graduate students who are studying in the relative fields of aircraft design, aerospace propulsion, instrumentation science, navigation and control, material science and manufacturing engineering, avionics, new energy resources, space environment and medicine, and other relevant subjects.
国际暑期学校主要面向国外相关高校、研究机构及北京航空航天大学从事飞行器设计、飞行器动力、飞行器制造、空间环境与医学、航空电子、航空航天材料、信息科学、生命科学、精密仪器、导航与控制等领域研究的博士、硕士研究生。

Limited to approximately 100 students.
(Participants will be half from abroad and half from BUAA, while more than 45% of which are doctoral students.)
招生人数约在100人（50人来自国际高校，50人来自北航）。

(Registration Day is July 2nd and the program will begin next day)
此次暑期学校举办时间为2019年7月3日—7月9日，7月2日报到，7月3日开始正式上课。

6.Summer School Arrangements
教学安排
The participants will be divided into four classes according to their majors and research interests.
Four classes are classified as：
Materials Manufacturing & Life Science
Aircraft Design and Propulsion
Information Science and Artificial Intelligence
Instrumentation Science, Navigation and Control
Applicants may find and select the subjects in the application form.
学员将按兴趣、专业和研究方向等条件分为四个班级。
申请者可在报名表中选择志愿。
四个班级分别为：1）材料制造与生命科学班 2）飞行器设计与动力推进班 3）信息科学与人工智能班 4）仪器、导航与控制班
Four sessions for four classes will be organized in parallel. Each student is required to give a presentation in approximately 15 minutes. Academic discussion sessions will be held among invited professors, industrial experts and students.
暑期学校将举办四次学员交流活动，所有学员需要根据自己的研究方向做不少于15分钟的英文学术交流报告，届时组委会将邀请相关专业的教授、专家参加，介绍研究情况并点评学员的报告。所有学员需要制作交流报告所需的PPT，并在暑期学校开学报到时提交至暑期学校组委会。
Each student should attend at least two lectures given by experts in their research fields.
暑期学校将邀请航空航天领域的著名专家举办学术前沿讲座，与学员进行深度学术交流。
The organizing committee will divide the participants into ten teams and put forward one project.
Each team is required to do research and presentation regarding the project, upon which the invited professors and industrial experts will provide comments.
One outstanding group will win the Best Team Award.
在暑期学校开学时，所有学员分成若干队伍，以团队为单位针对给定的前沿问题开展研究，撰写研究报告并在结业时进行成果展示，经专家点评及综合评定后，选出1个最佳团队并颁发荣誉证书。

7.Certificate
结业证明
At the end of the summer school, students will receive certificates that indicate their participation in the summer school.
暑期学校结束当日，会向参加学员派发结业证书。
8.Scholarship
奖学金设置
Three classes of scholarships are offered to successful applicants.
本届国际研究生暑期学校设置三个等级的奖学金以鼓励优秀外籍生源报名。
a) Full scholarship covers the international travel expenses of no more than 9,000 RMB per overseas student (with certificate), tuition costs, accommodation, meals and arranged local tours during the period of the summer school.
一等奖学金为报销不超过9,000元人民币的国际旅费（提供相应凭证），免除外籍学员在校期间学费并提供住宿。
b) The second class scholarship covers the international travel expenses of no more than 4,500 RMB per overseas student (with certificate), tuition costs, accommodation, meals and arranged local tours during the period of the summer school.
二等奖学金为报销不超过4,500元人民币的国际旅费（提供相应凭证），免除外籍学员在校期间学费并提供住宿。
c) The third class scholarship covers the international travel expenses of no more than 2,000 RMB per overseas student (with certificate), tuition costs, accommodation, meals and arranged local tours during the period of the summer school.
三等奖学金为报销不超过2,000元人民币的国际旅费（提供相应凭证），免除外籍学员在校期间学费并提供住宿。

9.Application Requirements
申请要求
1. To apply online, please fill in the application form and submit it with your CV (resume) by email to the organizing committee before April 23rd:
ibuaa2019igss@163.com
The subject of the email should in the form as follows: "(Full name), (your university), BUAA Summer School Applicant".
网上申请需填写报名表，同时提交你的个人简历，。命名方式为“全名-就读学校-北航暑期学校申请者”
2. A recommendation letter is optional but welcome.
不强制但欢迎提供推荐信。

10.Admission
录取结果公布
The admission results will be released on the official website before May 20th, 2019.
Meanwhile, the successful applicant will receive a confirmation via email from the organizing committee. The official admission letter will be issued by May 25th, 2019.
The final decision will not be applicable to appeal.
录取结果将在2019年5月20日之前在暑期学校官网公布，同时，5月25日之前将发布正式录取通知书。最终录取名单不予质询。
